DANCE AND ME

I dance, because in my body I have the histories of all the women of my kind.

I dance because I feel connected to others in motion.

I dance because there are unnamable things that only gestures and secret movements can express.

I dance because I dream because I love because I fear because I am alive.

I know that am alive because I dance.
